My desire to reduce waste and reuse comes from deep within my soul; a fire lit by my Nan, (a farmers wife who grew, sewed and made everything) when I was a child that’s continued to burn bright throughout my years as a multi-award-winning sustainable clothing designer, maker, manufacturer and mother…and now to teach.

I enjoyed customising clothes and re-using old garments to dress my dolls from an early age and, by the age of 11, I was on my third sewing machine! But my understanding of how powerful the connection is between clothes and ‘healing ❤️‍🩹 came after my parents separated. I joined two old garments together, one from my Dad and one from my Mum, a powerful process that felt like I was bringing them back together, enrobing myself with their love as a way of healing.
